LAST BOOK REPORT!!!!! :D

Part 1

I read the book The Client by John Grisham, and the main character is an eleven year old boy named Mark Sway. He has a younger brother named Ricky, and his mother Dianne. They live in a place called Tucker Wheel Estates which is a trailer park. He’s a street smart kid that smokes his mom’s cigarettes. His parents got a divorce because his dad would get drunk and come home and abuse them. In the book they say that they went to court because his dad came home so drunk Mark had to hit him with a baseball bat. So now Mark is kind of the man of the house. He likes to protect his family because in the book he won’t tell the judge where the body is hidden, and Mark knows that if he tells where the body is that people will try and hurt his family.

Part 2

This book has a lot of conflicts in it. The main conflict in this book is when Ricky and Mark are in the woods smoking, and they watch a guy named Jerome Clifford commit suicide. Jerome was a lawyer to a guy that’s in the mafia named Barry. Barry hid the body in Jerome’s garage and the cops are trying to find the body, and Jerome thinks Barry is going to kill him so he killed him first. Before Jerome kills himself he tells Mark where Barry had hide the body. So when Mark escapes from Jerome and him and Ricky run home, and Ricky goes into shock so they have to go to the hospital. When Barry finds out that his lawyer killed himself and Mark talked to him before he died Barry knew that Jerome told Mark where the body was hidden. So when Mark is at the hospital with his mother and younger brother he goes down to the cafeteria, and when he’s in the elevator a guy gets on and threatens Mark with a switchblade. The guy tells him that he better not tell anyone where the body is hidden.
Another conflict in this story that happens is when Mark has to go to court because he knows where the body is hidden, and Mark is taken to jail until he tells the judge where the body is. One day Mark fakes being in shock so they would take him to the hospital and he ran away with his lawyer. So he and his lawyer run to New Orleans to go find the person Barry killed. They go during the day to see where they can sneak into the yard to get to the garage, and when they go at night there are some of the people Barry hired to go get the body so he could throw it in the ocean so no one would find it. So when Mark and his lawyer are there at night Mark scares them away by throwing a rock at the neighbors window and they call the cops so the guys that Barry hired would run away and Mark would find the body and they could tell the cops.

Book Report #3

Part 1
John Tyree is the main character in the book Dear John by Nicholas Sparks, he has brown hair and brown eyes. He grew up with just his dad, when he was about one year old his mom left him. He played football, basketball and ran track in high school. In his senior year he started to cut classes and he quit sports, and he started to let his grades slip. He did drugs and drank he would sneak in his house at night and his dad would catch him but didn’t do anything about it. He never really was in any kind of relationship, and the one girl he dated he thought he loved her but it didn’t work out. When it came to collage he didn’t go he could keep a good job so he decided to join the army. During the three years he was in the army he felt like he grew up and went home to visit his dad. When he was there he met girl named Savannah, and when he first say her he knew that he loved her, but when he left for the army the realized it wasn’t going to work so they went their separate ways.

Part 2
I think the author made the book come from John’s point of view because he wanted to show how he got to where he was at when John and Savannah first met, and how he felt when they talked and when they were together. Also because when John and Savannah were on the pier and she gave him that book I think the author wanted to show how mad he got when she handed that book to him, and telling him that his dad has some kind of mental problem. Sometimes I think it would have been better if the author switched the point of view with Savannah because when John was in Germany she got married and her whole life changed when he was gone, but it kind of gave the book a little shocker because when John went to her house and he saw that she was married and who she got married to it made the book a little better. I also think it would have been better if it was in Tim’s point of view because he loved Savannah for a long time and when John came in her life he was just happy for her because he never seen her so in love with someone before, and I think it would have been good to see what he was thinking all this time.

Book Report #2 :)

Part One:
I read the book Something like Fate by Susane Colasanti. Lani is the main character in this book she has long black hair and hazel-blue eyes. Her best friends are black and Erin. She had known Erin for years and is very close with her. One thing Lani loves doing is checking her Horoscope. She found out that she’s a Taurus which means that she loves nature, seeks comfort, connects with the Earth, into serenity, stubborn, passionate, and nurturing.
Lani is a caring person. She cares a lot about the environment. There’s a group in her school called our world, she cares so much about the world that she is the president of the group. Any extra time she has she’s making posters to tell people that they should recycle instead of throwing it away in the garbage.
Another thing about Lani is that she’s brave. When she and Erin were little they got in a really bad car crash, and ended in a lake. Then later in the book Lani wants to learn how to swim for her family reunion in Florida. So she takes swimming lessons, but every time she goes in the water she feels like she can’t breathe and she freaks.  At the end of the book she learns how to swim without freaking out.
The last characteristic about Lani would be that she’s a good friend. When she thinks that meeting Jason is fate, and their soul mates she hides her feelings for him because she knows how much Erin likes him. When her friend Blake tries to tell Lani that she needs to go out with Jason, and that their made for each other she just tells him that she can’t do that to her.
 Part Two:
This book has one flashback in it. It was when Lani was talking about how she’s afraid of swimming. She said it was she and Erin were little and they were driving home from a Girl Scout meeting and they had to drive in a really bad rain storm.  Lani and Erin didn’t really know each other then, but they were friends. While Erin’s mom was driving the rain got worse and worse until her mom swerved of the road in a lake. Her mom was knocked out cold, and the girls didn’t know what to do. So Erin told Lani to come in the back with her, and that saved Lani’s life. So Lani has always been afraid to go swimming.
