Part 1
John Tyree is the main character in the book Dear John by Nicholas Sparks, he has brown hair and brown eyes. He grew up with just his dad, when he was about one year old his mom left him. He played football, basketball and ran track in high school. In his senior year he started to cut classes and he quit sports, and he started to let his grades slip. He did drugs and drank he would sneak in his house at night and his dad would catch him but didn’t do anything about it. He never really was in any kind of relationship, and the one girl he dated he thought he loved her but it didn’t work out. When it came to collage he didn’t go he could keep a good job so he decided to join the army. During the three years he was in the army he felt like he grew up and went home to visit his dad. When he was there he met girl named Savannah, and when he first say her he knew that he loved her, but when he left for the army the realized it wasn’t going to work so they went their separate ways.
Part 2
I think the author made the book come from John’s point of view because he wanted to show how he got to where he was at when John and Savannah first met, and how he felt when they talked and when they were together. Also because when John and Savannah were on the pier and she gave him that book I think the author wanted to show how mad he got when she handed that book to him, and telling him that his dad has some kind of mental problem. Sometimes I think it would have been better if the author switched the point of view with Savannah because when John was in Germany she got married and her whole life changed when he was gone, but it kind of gave the book a little shocker because when John went to her house and he saw that she was married and who she got married to it made the book a little better. I also think it would have been better if it was in Tim’s point of view because he loved Savannah for a long time and when John came in her life he was just happy for her because he never seen her so in love with someone before, and I think it would have been good to see what he was thinking all this time.
